The Lab, a Web site being developed by the ABC, will make
available in one place material about science that is aired on radio and TV by
the corporation. The site is due to be launched on 9 July by Science Minister
Peter McGauran. Also available will be interactive games and puzzles and
articles written specifically for the site by scientists and science writers.
The articles are meant to spark discussion and to supplement curriculum material
on a companion site called Lab Notes which is being developed in
consultation with teachers’ groups and education departments. The address for
the site will be http://www. abc.net.au/science By adding /k2 to
this address it will be possible to reach the Web site of Karl
Kruszelnicki, a regular populariser of science on the ABC.
