Letter: This is perfectly rational behaviour, isn't it?

Published 7 June 2017

From Brian Horton, West Launceston, Tasmania, Australia

While reading Elizabeth Landau's article on hoarding (29 April, p 34), I started to wonder whether the large amount of stuff in our home counted. Finding that the most commonly hoarded items were magazines, I started to panic, thinking of our collection of New Å®ÉúСÊÓƵ going back more than 40 years. My wife assured me, though, that I don't need treatment for my condition, because keeping copies of New Å®ÉúСÊÓƵ forever is perfectly rational and doesn't count as hoarding. I have been a home subscriber since 1975.
