The ozone hole above Antarctica is this week bigger than ever, covering an
area three times the size of the US. 女生小视频s are blaming its record size on
El Ni帽o, the reversal of ocean currents in the Pacific Ocean.
Jonathan Shanklin of the British Antarctic Survey says El Ni帽o
strengthened the vortex of cold air that forms over Antarctica every winter. At
鈭86 掳C, its core is now some 4 掳C colder than normal. This creates
ideal conditions for the formation of polar stratospheric clouds, within which
chlorine and bromine compounds from human sources destroy ozone.
