Spending on space science in Britain by the Department of Trade and
Industry will fall from 拢20 million to 拢6 million over the
next four years. Research in other areas will also be hit by the department’s
latest plans to cut back on spending.
Funding for civil aviation work will fall from 拢26 million to
拢23 million and measurement technology will fall from 拢64 million
to 拢50 million. The biggest budget, industrial innovation, has been
cut from 拢135 million to 拢118 million.
