Many digital cameras can shoot a quick burst of images to capture movement. And still images that change according to the angle at which they are viewed have been available on novelty postcards for many years. Now the film company Kodak of Rochester, New York, has patented a technique that exploits both technologies (EP 1324587). It plans an image-processing system that combines a series of frames taken by a digital camera into a single image that is then turned into a novelty postcard-type print. When viewed from different angles, the print shows the images in sequence, reproducing the original movement.
