Cibro Technologies of Jerusalem is bringing the feel of a craps game to the
Internet (WO 00/52672). The system can also be used to help blind people play
dice. Most computer dice games use a random number generator, but this robs the
game of any hands-on feel. Cibro has taken real dice and put an optical sensor
in each face and a radio transponder inside. When the dice are thrown, the light
sensor detects which face is down, and transmits a signal indicating which face
is up. A receiver connected to your PC displays, or 鈥渟peaks鈥, the number scored.
The signal from the dice is encrypted to stop hackers rigging the game.
