If you fancy changing the photographs on your mantelpiece every day, then a
digital picture frame hooked up to the Internet could be just the thing for you.
Two Californian companies, Ceiva Logic and Weave Innovations, have developed
frames that consist of a liquid-crystal display with a built-in modem. The
devices, which cost $249 and $299 respectively, can not only
display pictures stored in their memories, but allow you to send or receive
pictures using the modem. They can automatically download and display pictures
sent to you via the Net by a selected group of friends. The Weave frame can also
read the memory cards of digital cameras.
