The University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Unit opened last week.
The unit’s director is Martin Parry, chairman of the UK Climate Change Impacts
Review Group.

Parry has brought his entire six-strong research team with him from
Birmingham’s Atmospheric Impacts Research Group, together with 8 out of
the new unit’s first 14 projects and £1.4 million in research contracts.
‘We probably left a bit of a hole in Birmingham,’ Parry admits.

The other six projects are either new, or have been carried over from
the University of Oxford’s geography, zoology and forestry departments.
