Koreans cross the 39th parallel

女生小视频s in North and South Korea may soon be allowed to talk to each
other, after nearly 40 years during which contact was banned, says Chong
Chu-yong, chairman of the (South) Korean Federation of Scientific and Technological
Societies.

When the Korean War ended in 1953, citizens of South Korea were forbidden
by the government to visit the North or have any direct contact with its
citizens. Tentative contacts between the two Koreas began only in the late
1980s. Now, with the UN about to admit both North and South, closer relations
are possible.

Last week, scientists from both Koreas attending an international science
and technology congress in Yanji, China, used the occasion to discuss future
cooperation. According to Chong, although the northerners occasionally came
out with 鈥榠deological cliches鈥 against the South, the overall atmosphere
was 鈥榩ositive鈥. There would be regular meetings in the future, he said.
