Chaos seems to have affected our typesetting. We apologise for some
sloppy sums that slid into the recent article ‘Chaos on the trading floor’
(11 August). The equation at the end of paragraph four should have read:

p(t+1)=Ap(t)-Bp(t)=(A-B)p(t)

The equation at the end of paragraph six, and in the box, should be:

p(t+1)=Ap(t)-Ap2(t)

We sincerely hope that no one lost a fortune in the money markets as
a result of our error.
